In the summer of 2009 Boo Boo had the pleasure and the honor of playing on a string of big blues & jazz festivals all over
Europe. During those long travels they got a lot of ideas for new songs. So in the middle of the tour they went into the studio
for two days and recorded this new record. All songs were played live in the studio without any overdubs and for most songs the
first take turned out to be the best one. They didn’t ‘polish’ or ‘fix’ anything; this is exactly how they sound live.
DOUG MACLEOD: “I don’t like doing liner notes. But I like Boo Boo and I like this record. So I’m here to tell you that this is one funky record. Just three guys laying down some strong Mississippi style blues. A lot of different feels, emotions, and some fine musicianship. How funky is this record? If these guys moved in next door to you . . . . . . . . . . . your lawn dies. “ |

All the music and extemporaneous sounds that you'll hear on this record are coming from Boo Boo's vocal chords and harmonica,
John's drum kit or Jan's guitars. What started as a crazy idea after the tour with Boo Boo in October 2007 has turned out to be
not too crazy at all. On the Spring Tour of 2008 they decided to leave out the bass and tour as a trio. The audiences loved it and
were amazed all that sound was coming from just three pieces. John created a great drum kit (100% Radio King with real skin heads)
around his 60+ years old 28 inch bass drum and Jan bought a baritone guitar and put very heavy strings on his regular guitar. These
were the ingredients that produced this big authentic sound. Unlike many modern blues bands, Boo Boo and his band focus on the groove,
the feel, and the basic truths found in the blues. Blues doesn't come any 'realer' then this.

Boo Boo Davis is the REAL DEAL. He is coming from the same area, period and tradition as most of the blues greats. He
continues to write and sing his music which comes from first hand experience born from the Delta. So far Boo Boo has released
three very well received CD s on Black and Tan. For this new recording project, Boo Boo teamed up with Ramon Goose (from nublues)
and they fused the raw blues sounds from the Mississippi delta with modern grooves. Like all the greats from the blues history Boo
Boo's singing has a timeless component that makes his message come thru loud and clear. |

It's Boo Boo Davis' third album since he started out on Black & Tan in 1999. Boo has come a long way and is still evolving.
He's like a diamond in the rough. He's got a great sense for music and like his mentors often makes his lines up on the spot.
In his music you can hear and feel how he honed his skills in the juke joints of East St Louis. An album with Boo's typical raw
and wild juke joint blues that recalls the heydays of the late Wolf, but also some tracks with a different flavor. |

Can Man is the second title by vocalist, drummer Boo Boo Davis out of St Louis, Missouri. The album was cut after a short
European tour last year in Holland. Where a very inspired Boo Boo brought nothing but originals to the studio. Songs that draw
their inspiration from topics out of every day life and things he lived or witnessed in his life. The final result is stunning.
Boo's gravely voice recalls the vocal power of nobody else than Howlin' Wolf, but Boo is very much his own man. |

This one is on drummer/vocalist Boo Boo Davis out of St Louis,
Missourri. He used to play the renowned blues club Tubby's Red Room in
East St Louis with his brothers, called the Davis Brothers. It's a very
raw sound reminiscent to the powerful music of Howlin' Wolf in his
heydays, however Boo never steps into the imitation trap and stays true
to himself and his style.
